I had been playing the main guitar riff for the song nearly every day since March. It made me feel understood and peaceful in the middle of a chaotic time. Eventually some lyrics came to me that went along with the riff. In August, Sam came over and I showed him the song for the first time, along with some rhythmic ideas I had. I engineered and played the instruments and he produced. We finished the song in a matter of hours. Later, we recruited Ben Littlejohn to mix, and my dear friend Kate to master. Finally, I used some artwork created by my good friend Ava and personalized it for this release.
I hope this song speaks to you if you don’t know which side is up.
